With every book job I take on, it starts with extensive testing of grids, fonts and colour palette. Once the client is happy with sample pages, I can proceed with the book.
Putting Wrong Things Right was a long project, inspired by a highly successful long-form magazine feature. This developed into a 168-page illustrated book, with timelines for each decade and multiple contributors.
I’ve also been commissioned to design a wide range of books, from historical to legal, as well as a fantasy novel. Each had its own challenges: some had numerous job owners, some had extensive footnotes requiring a particularly detailed template.
